Womens Sweatsuits
Trying to find a great variety of printed and basic sweats in many color choices and styles any time of the year? Buck and Buck has just what you are looking for!
All year long you will find us well stocked with beautiful sweatsuits in many colors and print collections. Unlike many other companies, we carry pastels and bright colors every month of the year. Our sweatsuits are very comfortable, easy to care for and reasonably priced.
Often older women like the warmth and softness of our sweats every season of the year. Air conditioning in the summer months can cause seniors to become easily chilled so sweatsuits are perfect. The in between months of spring and fall find women and men looking for the lightweight comfort of sweats without the heavy layering of extra clothing.
Buck and Buck specializes in adaptive clothing as well as everyday clothing for the independent senior. Our adaptive sweatsuits are also extremely popular if you are in need of specialized clothing.
Elastic Waist Pant
What types of elastic waist pants does Buck and Buck carry? Buck and Buck carries a wide selection of elastic waist pants for women and men. Our elastic waist pants provide a good, comfortable stretch at the waist and the elastic does not "roll over" on itself. In our men’s line we have twill, denim, knit and fleece materials available in the elastic waist pants. We also can replace the zipper fly with a VELCRO® brand closure fly if that will allow the gentleman to continue to dress himself with little or no assistance.
We can also insert grab loops in our pants to assist the man in pulling on his pants if he has problems with strength in his fingers and hands. Just let us know. In our women’s collection we have elastic waist pants in knit, fleece, so soft, denim and more. We also have a variety of lengths and styles. Our two most popular lengths are capri and regular ankle length with many colors to mix and match our wide selection of tops. Remember, we can add the grab loops in the women’s pants also if that will help her to dress independently.
Let us know your preferences and take a look at our other dressing designs.
Para and Quadriplegics
Paralysis of one or more limbs may cause the individual to lose some independence. To preserve as much independence as possible for the paraplegic and quadriplegic individual, we have designed clothing to meet that need.
Choose from our designs of clothing that have long, bilateral side zippers which permit easy, independent dressing and toileting for the wheelchair bound individual. Any of our pants may be converted to the side-zip design. Just let us know your preference.
For the quadriplegic individual, our back flap pants for women may be the best choice. The pants can be easily put on with the assistance of a caregiver and the back flap closes to give adequate coverage yet makes toileting very easy. We have also had many paraplegics choose this style because wheelchair to toilet transfers are easy and modesty can be maintained with little difficulty. Hook and loop closures that replace the zipper fly on pants and buttons on shirts and blouses permit easy dressing for the person who may have very minimal use of their hands.
If the person with paralysis needs assisted dressing, our open back or rear closure designs for men and women are great. The garments look like regular, everyday wear, but the open back design makes dressing easy for the caregiver and less of a struggle for the wearer.
Men Elastic Waist Twill Pants
Why order elastic waist twill pants for your gentleman from Buck and Buck? Our very popular elastic waist twill pants are great for the man who has trouble using zipper flies and buttons due to arthritic joints or finger neuropathy, and because of the stretchy, wide elastic waistband he can pull the pants easily over a back brace or other back support.
As we get older, our flexibility and strength may decrease. Pants with all elastic waistbands make the dressing process much easier. No struggles with zippers, button and snaps and no open fly to cause embarrassment. If your gentleman has incontinence problems, the elastic waistband makes frequent changing quick and easy. The material stands up very well under multiple washings and looks great right out of the dryer. No ironing needed.
Please note that all of our clothing is "wash and wear".
Bariatric Clothes
Does Buck and Buck carry clothing for the senior bariatric patient? We have several items of clothing that will accommodate up to a size 3X and some to a 5X. We have had requests for larger sizes and will be featuring additional plus size clothing choices that will fit the senior bariatric patient. Remember that if you see a garment in our catalog and you require a larger size than we currently offer, please reach out to our customer service team and they will try to accommodate your request.
You might also look in our adaptive clothing designs for women and men, and patient clothing section to get some ideas that may meet your needs.
Please keep in mind the importance of proper footwear for the senior bariatric patient. If swelling of the feet and ankles is an issue, we do carry shoes and socks for women and men that answer many of the problems related to edema in the feet.
Clothing for Back Braces
Do you need clothing that is both comfortable and easy to wear with a back brace? Our elastic waist pants for men or women are just the thing for you. The waist band is made of non-roll elastic that fits well over most back brace designs. The waistband provides comfort and dressing ease for a variety of adaptive dressing challenges brought on by temporary or more permanent conditions. If the brace necessitates a wider waist than normally worn, we have some pants available up to a 4X.
We also feature our very popular VELCRO® brand fly closure pants that are also good with braces and have the hook and loop adapted fly for the gentleman who has difficulty managing zippers, but likes the ease of the fly on the pants.
Don't forget the probable need for soft undershirts to wear beneath a back brace. We always have a great collection of undershirts in stock for both women and for men. The woman may prefer the full back vest of 100% cotton or the Dutch Neck T-shirt style. The gentleman with a back brace may like the athletic, v-neck or crew neck style. These shirts will provide a soft cushion under the brace and help to prevent chafing.
Getting Dressed with Orthopedic Injuries
The daily act of dressing may not be the first thing on your mind when you have an orthopedic injury or require surgery to repair an injury, but soon you will realize that getting dressed may not be so easy and automatic. We have some solutions for a few of your dressing dilemmas.
If you have incurred a rotator cuff injury we have some suggestions for clothing that will be helpful during your recovery. If you have had a knee replacement or a hip replacement, we also have some clothing suggestions for you. Often a broken leg or ankle that requires casting can be a challenge in getting dressed.
Clothes for Geri Chairs
Clothing for seniors confined to geri chairs, like wheelchair clothing, needs to be comfortable, easy to put on, non-restrictive and look good. The clothes for geri chair users also has to be "user friendly" in that toileting and other needs for personal care should not be cumbersome to carry out.
At Buck and Buck, we have accomplished all of these clothing attributes for the geri chair user. Take a look at our slacks with the 22 inch long, bilateral zippers. We can put these zippers on any of our pants. The benefit to the geri chair user is that the pants open very easily for self and assisted dressing. The generous, bilateral zippers also allow for easy, self toileting transfers which provide a sense of dignity to the individual who is non-ambulatory.
Our dresses for women who are confined to geri chairs have extra length to adequately cover the knees while seated and reclined.
All of our open back clothing items for women and men would be appropriate for the individual in a geri chair. Take a look, and please browse through the rest of our catalog for many other great dressing needs.
Full Figure Clothes
Does Buck and Buck carry clothing for seniors with full figures? We have several items of clothing that will accommodate up to a size 3X and some to a 5X. We have had requests for larger sizes and will be featuring additional full figure clothing choices for seniors in response to those requests, so please keep checking our online catalog.

Please keep in mind the importance of proper footwear for the senior with a full figure. If swelling of the feet and ankles is an issue, we do carry shoes and socks that answer many of the problems related to edema in the feet.
