Wheelchair Clothing

Buck and Buck carries a variety of garments for women and men who use a wheelchair. Our primary customer is the elderly individual who is in a nursing home or receiving home care. We consider the comfort of the wearer and their need to maintain as much independence as possible and we also are concerned with providing garments that are helpful to the caregiver who may need to assist with dressing and personal care. Note that sometimes individuals in nursing homes use a wheelchair as a convenient mode of getting around due to weakness rather than because of a physical or medical disability. Keep the reasons for use of a wheelchair in mind as you shop for your lady or gentleman.

Hints: If the individual in the wheelchair can do transfers independently or with little assistance, our side zip pants are very useful. The zippers are bilateral and 22 inches long that makes toilet transfers very manageable. If the individual cannot perform self transfers and cannot dress him or herself at all, the best wheelchair clothing items are the open back garments that are easy for the caregiver to use and comfortable for the wearer. Our open back wheelchair clothing items are very popular because they are made of quality fabric, generously cut to cover the knees for the women and the snaps are positioned strategically to avoid pressure points on the spine.

Select from our Women’s Wheelchair Clothes or Men’s Wheelchair Clothes categories. Look for the AD symbol throughout our catalog. This symbol indicates adaptive clothing for the individual who needs help in dressing.
