Incontinence is a common problem in women and men as aging occurs. It is a problem that can cause embarrassment for the elderly who have otherwise led a life with dignity and self assurance. The cause of the incontinence should always be explored because there may be a simple solution to the problem. You may also find that sometimes what we call "incontinence" is the inability of the older person to manipulate zippers and buttons, and when there is an urgency to use the toilet, an accident can occur. There is no need for dignity to be diminished due to problems of incontinence in this case. Buck and Buck has adaptive clothing and easy wear, easy care clothes to help you out.
Women's Incontinence Clothing Styles
Choose from our Incontinence clothing for women based upon the person’s ability to dress herself. The person dresses independently (self dresser) or needs help to dress (assisted dressing).
Women’s Incontinence Clothing – Dresses Independently/Self Dresser
Our elastic waist culottes, slacks and basic sweatsuits make toileting easy because of the generous stretch to our elastic waistbands. No zippers, buttons or snaps to make a trip to the restroom potentially difficult.
If incontinence is a problem, she can never have enough panties.
Please note that all of our clothing is easy to wear and is able to withstand vigorous washing so any of our garments would be useful to the woman who has an incontinence problem and can dress herself with little or no assistance.
Women’s Incontinence Clothing – Needs help to Dress/Assisted Dressing
Our snap back dresses are just the thing for the woman who cannot dress herself. This is one of the many styles available in our adaptive dresses line. The snaps down the back are easy for the caregiver who assists the woman and the dress is stylish and comfortable for the wearer.
If the woman is confined to a wheelchair and also has an incontinence problem, the cut-away design dress will be most helpful for her and her caregiver. This design has the seat of the duster cut out so that toileting and personal care is made less cumbersome.
Sweatsuits are very popular and comfortable to wear. Our adaptive sweatsuits with the side-zip pants and snap back tops make assisted dressing easy for the caregiver. The side-zip pants make toileting and personal care less of a struggle.
Consider giving washable shoes and plenty of socks to the woman with incontinence issues.
