Diabetic Footwear

Does Buck and Buck carry diabetic footwear? Yes, Buck and Buck does carry diabetic footwear in our product line for seniors. Often the elderly with diabetes have problems with their circulation due to the damage done to nerve fibers and blood vessels over the years of having the disease. Buck and Buck is sensitive to the dressing needs of these seniors and we have designed some diabetic footwear to decrease constriction and provide warmth to the feet.

We also feature several socks that are wonderful items of diabetic footwear because of the soft, non-binding material of the sock and their ability to stretch providing comfort and decreased pressure for feet and legs that swell. Many of our slipper designs for women and men such as our booties are wonderful for the senior with diabetes because of the warmth provided to the feet which then promotes circulation.

Elderly Footwear & Foot Problems

What clothing items do Buck and Buck carry for individuals with foot problems? We know that as you age, many individuals will suffer from a variety of foot problems, so we have several items in our slipper, sock and shoe departments for men and women to address your issues.

For example, one common foot problem is bunions. We have a variety of shoes and slippers that are designed to have adequate width to ease pressure on the bunions of the great toe area. Another foot problem that we recognize as an issue for the elderly is the hammer toe. Many of our shoes and slippers have the width needed in the toe area to prevent the discomfort that occurs in conventional footwear caused from pressure and rubbing against the hammer toe. Also common as a footwear problem for the elderly is swelling in the feet and ankles due to immobility and/or a medical condition such as CHF (congestive heart failure) or venous insufficiency (lack of adequate circulation in the lower legs). Many of our socks, slippers and shoes for women and men have ample width and/or adjustable hook and loop closures to accommodate moderate to severe swelling. Conditions such as diabetes can cause foot problems such as ulcers. We carry socks that stretch to ease pressure on the ulcer and prevent restriction due to swelling of the feet.

Please look through our footwear section to find items that will address your specific footwear problems and browse through our catalog for other dressing solutions.

Podiatry Footwear

Seniors with problem feet may have the podiatrist suggest particular types of shoes to ease the discomfort caused by pressure points and swelling. Conditions such as bunions, hammertoes, foot ulcers, ingrown toenails and edema can be quite problematic to seniors and lead to a decrease in their ability to walk. Our footwear collection for men and for women features shoes, slippers and socks that will provide comfort for problem feet.

We have socks that will accommodate moderate to severe swelling issues or foot problems related to diabetes and circulatory insufficiency. We have non-skid slippers for men and women that will adjust with hook and loop closures to accommodate swelling. We carry a variety of men's and women's shoes that provide comfort for feet with bunions or hammertoes.
