Velcro Clothing

Buck and Buck carries a wide range of Velcro® clothes. We feature Velcro® clothing because many of our elderly customers have difficulty with diminished hand strength that makes the daily act of dressing difficult. Reduced strength in the hands may be as a result of arthritis or other medical conditions, but whatever the cause, our goal is to help the elderly person maintain as much independence as possible. We substitute Velcro® for buttons, snaps and zippers if adapting the garment will be helpful to the wearer and to the caregiver. If you see a particular style in our catalog and you need to have Velcro® closures added, let us know.

Women's Velcro Clothing

Choose from our Velcro® Clothing for women based upon the person’s ability to dress herself. The person dresses independently (self dresser) or needs help to dress (assisted dressing).

Women's Velcro Clothes - Dresses Independently/Self Dresser
	Many women love this duster. We will be happy to substitute the snaps for Velcro® if that will help the woman to dress herself. Just make your request known by writing a note to make that change in the comments section of your order.
	This garment does not have Velcro®, but it does have a 3/4 zipper. Often the woman with hand weakness is able to manage this type of zipper because the zipper does not require her to join the zipper sections. The zipper is ready to be pulled up. Any dresses with a 3/4 zipper may be useful for your lady so please take a look. Also, if pulling up the zipper would be made easier with the addition of a zipper pull or tab, just ask us for this adjustment.
	Like this blouse? If she needs Velcro® rather than button closures, just ask our Customer Service Representatives to help you.
	As long as the woman can reach her arms up to pull a garment on over the head, any of our sweatsuits, velour and boucle sets or knit pants set/separates will enable her to dress independently. There are no buttons, snaps or zippers to deal with.
	Don't forget her footwear. All of our shoes have Velcro® closures as well as do several of our slippers.
Women's Velcro Clothing - Needs help to Dress/Assisted Dressing
	If she cannot dress herself at all, any of our open back garments are the answer for her. Snaps open down the full length of the back of the garment to make the dressing process easier. If substitution of Velcro® for the snaps would make it easier for the caregiver, let us know.
	If she likes the casual look of a t-shirt, yet needs the open back style, we will surely have something to please her. If blouses are preferable, see our varied collection of blouses and remember that any style can be made into an open back garment for her dressing ease.
	Many women love our knit sets and separates. You can mix and match the pants and tops to suit her needs and preferences.
	Don't forget her nightwear. We have open back gowns with snaps at the shoulders to make getting ready for bed a breeze! If the caregiver prefers Velcro® to the snaps, just let us know.
	Our foot snugglers® are perfect for the elderly woman with very fragile skin who spends most of her day in a wheelchair or reclined in bed or recliner. The foot snugglers® have Velcro® closures to accommodate care and inspection of the skin.
	We have a wide selection of women's footwear to choose from and most of our footwear has Velcro® closures to make dressing easy.

Men's Velcro Clothing - Dresses Independently/Self Dresser
	Any of shirts can be adapted with Velcro® closures like this one to help the gentleman be more independent in his dressing. Just ask us for the adjustment.
	If he is an independent dresser, but would benefit from replacing a zipper with a Velcro® fly, this is the answer. Often incontinence is labeled as the problem when difficulty getting the zipper to work may be the solution for the man with arthritic hands, Parkinson's or other issues causing weakness or tremors in the hands. We can convert the zipper fly to a Velcro® one in any of our pants.
	Our sweatsuits are always popular with all of the gentlemen. Good for relaxing or going for an exercise session. No buttons, zippers, snaps or even Velcro® to manipulate on these great outfits.
	Don't forget his nightwear. We can put Velcro® on the placket underneath the buttons of the pajama tops, just like we do on our Velcro® closure shirts. If this will help him to be more independent, let us know and we'll do this for you.

Men's Velcro Clothes - Needs help to Dress/Assisted Dressing
	If he cannot dress himself at all, his caregiver will appreciate our collection of open back shirts and side snap pants. Remember that any of our shirts may be converted to snap back adaptive wear. Just ask us.
	Our adaptive sweatsuits have snap back tops and bilateral side zip pants. If the caregiver finds Velcro® easier to use than snaps, just let us know and we'll make the adjustment for you.
	Don't forget his nightwear. We have open back nightshirts with snaps at the shoulders to make getting ready for bed a breeze! If the caregiver prefers Velcro® to the snaps, just let us know.
