What does Buck and Buck mean by senior clothing?

Since the vast majority of our customers are age 80 plus, with a growing number in their 90's and beyond, Buck and Buck focuses on the styles, fabrics, prints and designs that women and men in those age categories seem to prefer. Some of our clothing styles may remind you of your grandmother and grandfather since that is our major consumer population, although some of our fashions like our sweatsuits and separates are popular with all age groups.

Easy wear easy care senior clothing
Our senior fashions are easy to wear and easy to care for. Easy to wear means the clothing fosters independence in dressing by using front closure zippers, snaps, Velcro®, large buttons, and comfortable elastic waistbands as well as pull over the head designs. We recognize how difficult it is for many seniors to relinquish independence in dressing. Our styles reflect the importance of our philosophy of the maintenance of dignity through independent dressing for seniors for as long as possible. Our clothes are machine washable, require no ironing and are comfortable to wear. These criteria are also very desirable in the nursing home industry where many of our customers reside. The commercial laundries of nursing homes can be very harsh on clothing so we run laundering tests to make certain that our garments can withstand the rigorous processing in commercial washing machines and driers yet retain the fabric's sizing, look and comfort.

Underwear to outerwear

All of our garments can be adapted to accommodate the dressing needs of seniors and their caregivers. Since we want to maintain the independence of seniors for as long as possible, we will insert Velcro® behind buttons, replace a zipper fly with Velcro®, move pockets to accommodate the needs of a senior whose had a stroke, and much more.
