Indicates adaptive design.Lots of women love the comfort of slacks. You are certain to find at least one style in our collection to meet your needs. We have slack styles for the independent self dresser, adaptive styles for the self dresser with a handicap as well as for the woman who needs the help of another person to dress.
The adaptive line has back flap pants designed for the wheelchair bound or non weight bearing woman. As you see in the picture, the seat of the pants has a flap of material to ensure coverage when assisted into the standing position, yet the pants unsnap at the waist for the person to do self toileting.
Our side zip slacks are unique. They have bilateral, 22 inch zippers that allow the woman confined to a wheelchair to open the pants to below the knees for easier toilet transfers. The bilateral, long zippers also make it easy for a caregiver to assist in dressing the women while she is still in bed. Place her legs into the foot openings and pull the pants up bringing the front of the pants up to her waist area and then turn her to one side and pull up the back of the slacks to her waist and close the zipper on that side. Turn her to the other side and repeat the last steps. The long zippers make the garment easier to pull on without unnecessary tugging.
If the woman just needs a little help in dressing, the side snap pants might be the thing to try. These pants open at the waist on both sides allowing for a large waist opening for ease of dressing.
Give us a call if you have a question as to which slacks might be best for your situation.
