Muscular Dystrophy

Myotonic muscular dystrophy is a form of MD (muscular dystrophy) with an onset that happens in adulthood.  Prolonged muscle spasms that occur in this disease may have an impact on a person's ability to perform ADL's (activities of daily living) such as dressing, bathing, walking, cooking, etc.  Swallowing problems can also occur due to weakness in the muscles in the esophagus or throat.  Depending upon the individuals impairment, you may find our VELCRO® closure garments helpful as well as most of our women's and men's adaptive clothing items.  Please take a look at our entire catalog for clothes and protective garments that may help you.
